Fiberoptic Studio Shows iSky Panel Systems at CEDIA
“It’s really three products in one” says Fiberoptic Studio Corp. CEO Jeff Graham at CEDIA. iSky Panels are acoustic panels, display a starry night sky simulation, and add special effects to a room with remote controlled LED lighting around the edges.
With 25 years of experience in working with fiber optics, Jeff Graham understood the problems with traditional fiber optic ceiling displays, and set out to solve them. iSky panels should be a hit at CEDIA, as they were designed with the installer as well as the consumer in mind. Their fitting slogan is “Big bang effects, without all the banging.”
Previously a starry night sky could only be created by drilling holes into the ceiling panels and threading fiber optic cables through them, then running cables to a noisy illuminator box. iSky panels are connected to one another simply by a low voltage jumper wire, and simple installation is one of the key goals in the development of iSky.
At first only available as acoustic absorbers, Graham took advice from sound professionals at Dolby and has added reflector and diffuser panels to the line. He also continues to listen and respond to the concerns of consumers and has added an eco-friendly version.
The star ceilings, with their realistic twinkling effects have been a hit in home theaters and bedrooms, and have been used as a calming addition to dentist offices, and children’s hospitals.
