The Home Theater Specialists of America (HTSA) buying group hired David Berman to implement the group’s sponsored training initiative. Berman is the former director of training strategy at Monster Cable Products.
Said HTSA Executive Director Richard Glikes, “We have a new program to offer a suite of services to our members. Ten different areas have been identified and solutions are being offered, with training being preeminent. David Berman will direct our training effort with his primary focus being improving selling skills.
“Other responsibilities will include working with our vendor partners to communicate key product selling features and producing white papers on new technologies, as well as development of courses on audio, control, lighting and video.”
Berman has over 30 years experience in the industry, including retail stints with Macy’s, Stereo Designs and CMC Stereo and time with Mitsubishi and Polk Audio. He has held a majority position as CEO and president of Soliloquy Loudspeaker Company since 2002.
“I have watched him develop and train since 1987, when we met at Bryn Mawr Stereo,” said Glikes. “I have admired his style and consider him to be the finest sales trainer I have ever had the pleasure to watch.”
