Hong Kong’s Spring Electronics Fair to spotlight IoT, connected home tech
The hottest consumer technology trends and product solutions will once again be on display at the annual Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition), running from April 13 to 16 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It is being held concurrently with the International ICT Expo, and the two Fairs are expected to draw around 3,300 exhibitors. The 2015 shows attracted approximately 92,000 buyers from 150 countries and regions.
Returning to the Spring Electronics Fair this year will be the Connected Home Zone, a forum for the introduction of Internet of Things (IoT) applications in home automation.
Show organizer Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC) said that visitors will find a wide range of products there that allow users to remotely control electrical appliances and infrared devices at home.
Another popular area returning to the Fair is the Robotics & Unmanned Tech Zone, which will feature the latest remote-controlled gadgets, from airborne cameras to robots, and much more.
A new area being added this year is the iAccessories Zone. With the ubiquity of mobile communications devices in consumers’ homes and lives, there has been a rising demand for accessories to enhance the utility of those devices. At the Electronics Fair, the new iAccessories section will cluster exhibitors offering a wide spectrum of accessories for mobile and smart devices, including bags and cases for phones and tablets, screen protectors and stylus pens, among others.
Other themed zones making an encore appearance again at the Fair will include: 3D Printing, Wearable Electronics, Audio Visual Products and Healthcare Electronics.
The Fair’s Hall of Fame will return, too, with over 570 international leading brands featured, including Bigben, Desay, Great Wall, Haier, Hubble, Hyundai, Intel and Polaroid.

The Small Orders Zone and Other Value-added Events
The hktdc.com Small Orders Zone, back again at the Spring 2015 Fairs, will continue to serve as a convenient platform for buyers to source in smaller lots, featuring products available in minimum-order quantities ranging from five to 1,000 pieces. It is also accessible at hktdc.com, so that global buyers can source products and complete transactions online.
A series of industry seminars, forum and networking events for exhibitors, buyers and visitors will be held at the Fairs to disseminate research about industry trends and market knowledge, as well as help attendees expand their business networks.
