Home Entertainment Source (HES) and PRO Group members and their suppliers lifted a celebratory glass or two at the Point of View lounge atop the Atlanta Hilton, capping off Day One of this year’s CEDIA Expo.
“Let’s applaud,” said HES’s Jim Ristow. “We’re alive, we’re well and we’re relevant – and that’s what this whole thing is all about. We’re toasting perseverance, innovation and relevance.”
“We’re looking forward to the holidays,” added PRO’s Dave Workman, rounding out Ristow’s salutation to the dealer and vendor guests, “and we all know what we have to do with 3D and connected TV presentations – so let’s do it.”
Ristow also used the occasion to announce the launch this fall of his group’s Connected Source store-within-a-store model. Four beta test sites kick off the program, which is being tailored “to simplify the demonstration and sale of home automation,” said Ristow. Also announced were the dates and location of the Home Entertainment Source 2011 Summit; it is slated for February 20 to 23 in Orlando.
