H-P Products rolls out user-friendly updates for its Hide-A-Hose system
In an attempt to make its popular Hide-A-Hose more user-friendly, H-P Products announced a number of updates to the retractable hose management system. All of the new features are included in H-P’s new HS5000 valve—the in-wall structure that hides the Hide-A-Hose’s 50’ retractable tubing system.
Chief among the new features is that the valve is 38 percent smaller than previous models, which H-P Products said addresses user concerns that the valve doors were too large and took up too much wall space. The new valve measures 4.4” by 6.3”. Also, a new switch on the hose locking system will keep the hose from being pulled back into the tubing before the user is done cleaning. Updates were also made to the switch and hose themselves, H-P Products said, to make the locking mechanism “smoother and more efficient.”
H-P also explained that a new mini cuff is included with the new HS5000, which will allow users to connect popular cleaning tools like dusting brushes and upholstery tools directly to the hose without the use of a handle.
“The original Hide-A-Hose system has been one of the most popular central vacuum add-ons since its debut several years ago because of its performance and ability to keep the hose out of sight,” Sarah Busch, marketing manager for H-P Products, said in a statement. “All of these new user-friendly updates have just make the system more efficient and powerful, in a smaller, unobtrusive package.”
H-P Products also touted updates that make the installation process easier. A new rough-in kit includes the same products as before only they are 38 percent smaller (like the unit itself). Further, the new HS5000 solves thick wall issues that many installers faced before by using curve in tubing.
