Flat Panel Shootout Headed to CE Week
Value Electronics' annual Flat Panel TV Shootout is going to have a new location this year: New York City.
The event, which is normally held at Value Electronics' location in Scardsale, N.Y., will instead take place in Manhattan, as part of CE Week, the organizers announced Monday.
The Shootout will take place June 24 and 25, on the show floor during CE Week's exhibits, and all registered CE Week attendees are invited to attend.
In front of an audience, four TVs will be judged on picture quality, including such attributes as contrast ratio, peak brightness, black level, color accuracy, color saturation, motion resolution, lag input time, and energy efficiency. The four contenders are Panasonic’s TC-65CX850U, LG’s 65EG9600, Samsung’s UN78JS9500 and Sony’s XBR-75X940C. In the 2014 version of the event, held last August, LG’s 55EC9300 OLED TV won the most voting categories, while Samsung’s F8500 plasma model received the highest overall score.
Sound & Vision's Rob Sabin and Scott Wilkinson will serve as presenters on the two days.
Exhibits at this year’s CE Week are scheduled for June 24-25 in New York.
CE Week is produced annually by the Consumer Technology Publishing Group (CTPG) of Napco Media, publisher of Dealerscope and Technology Integrator magazines, and producer of the Technology Tell Network of technology web communities and the FutureVision retailer summit; the show is in partnership with Martin Porter Associates.
