Easy Access Distribution Draws Record Crowds to 17th EXPO
Citing the growing need surrounding products, services and training in light commercial, over 200 dealer/integrators attended the Easy Access EXPO in Billerica, MA.
Said Company Owner/President and Catalyst AV board member Steve Presti, “This year’s theme of ‘Think BIGGER, THINK Home & Light Commercial’”, really resonated with the attendees.
“We focused on light commercial as an untapped opportunity and featured education, live demonstrations and support plus there was one-on-one interaction with over 40 vendors. Including Atlona, RTI Commercial, Soundtube, Russound Commercial, Catalyst AV Wire and Cable, Rapid Video Mounts, Lyric Speakers, Monitor Audio, Chief, DaLite, Vivitek, Luxul, Mood Music, Ice Cable Systems and Heos for Commercial. There are lucrative opportunities out there if you know what to look for in light commercial projects: doctor & dentist offices, bars, restaurants, spa/retreats, houses of worship, realty, etc.
“We bring a contemporary direction to our events, first tier technical support and a vision for the next best thing. Education is the essential ingredient in expanding your marketplace and in order to take the next step you have to demonstrate the ability to support the dealers. We understand their issues in the field and have a support team that has been there and done that. We speak the same language and have experienced the challenges of growth that our dealers are facing in a changing and competitive marketplace.”
Guest speakers included, Gary Kayye speaking on the ABC’s of light commercial: What to look for AND what to avoid, where the low hanging fruit is and how to specify the right products for the project. Heos VP of Training in The Americas, Jeff Cowan spoke on “Top Down Selling”, Kelly Neary Special Projects, Partnerships at eero talked about how to reach the millennials and Erica Strickland Trainer and Sales Engineer for Atlona Technologies on the 5 things you need to know about 4K and HDR video an essential element for proper system design.
Commented Heos presenter Jeff Cowan, “Steve and the Easy Access team always go that extra mile when they hold their EXPO. Some guys just sort of go through the motions, but not Easy Access; every EXPO is on message and exciting. We demoed Heos as a great way to branch out into light commercial. We can now present a package of programming as a legal solution. Attendees need to be comfortable with 70 volt and I don’t see a problem with that. I felt that 1out of 3 attendees are already doing some light commercial. Heos Drive is the perfect solution as a unique 4-zone whole audio distribution system with a Class D, 8-channel amplifier. Perfect for bars and restaurants, where you might have multiple environments at one establishment.”
Said attendee Joe Dul of Untangled, LLC of Wilton, CT, “ Easy Access put together such a great EXPO. I just have to thank Steve and the team for helping so many of us further our educations in light commercial…this will really help our business!”
Cheena Srinivasan, CEO of Kaleidescape, was very popular as he proved that home theater is gaining popularity, through technologies such as HDR, object-based surround and Ultra HD 4K. Srinivasan’s point was there is more to home video than just streaming media and that Kaleidescape fits into today’s home theater.
Concluded Steve Presti, “I want dealers to understand that we are a resource for education in this category, with a commercial vision in place to help grow the market. We bring fresh ideas and new avenues to increase revenue to the Easy Access EXPOs and we are successful in our mission.”
