DPL Releases Performance Ratings for DirectConnect
DPL Laboratories, Inc. last week released its first-ever set of performance ratings for HDMI, and the first products up were HDMI cables released by the Texas-based manufacturer DirectConnect. One of those cables received a perfect score of 5, on a scale of 1-to-5.
The company submitted eight models for rating purposes, the majority of them receiving 3s and 4s. But the HDMI-A-0.5MB earned a perfect five.
“We are thrilled that DirectConnect HDMI cables tested, in most cases, between the mid- and high-end of DPL’s challenging performance scale,” DirectConnect’s product manager, Michael F. Jorewicz, said in a statement. ““As one of the first participants in the DPL program, DirectConnect firmly believes that the industry needs this type of performance-based system to ‘level the playing field’ and provide assurance to consumers and installers that the products they purchase meet significant standards.”
