DISH Launches OnTech Install/Setup/Tutorial Service for Smart Home Products
Satellite services provider DISH has launched OnTech Smart Services, a direct-to-consumer service, encompassing multiple smart home and consumer electronics brands, that is designed to provide consumers with professional installation, setup and education for smart home devices and entertainment systems. Its initial rollout spans 11 markets including: Atlanta; Dallas/Ft. Worth; Denver; Houston; Kansas City; Los Angeles, New York; Sacramento; Salt Lake City; San Francisco and St. Louis, with more markets to be added in the near future, said the announcement.
OnTech’s suite of start-to-finish solutions includes installation of products from Google Nest, Ring, Linksys, Wemo, Roku, Yale, Polk Audio and Klipsch Audio, among others; the installs are conducted by professionally trained and insured technicians, and these services will be available once ordered as soon as the same day they are requested, according to the company’s announcement.
Consumers can purchase smart home products and services online directly from OnTechSmartServices.com and schedule appointments that include one-on-one education about how to operate and personalize their smart home products.
“OnTech connects a growing group of consumers who want the convenience of a smart home, but don’t have the time or know-how to get the most out of the latest devices,” said Nick Rossetti, senior vice president of OnTech Smart Services, in the statement.
“With delivery and installation available as soon as the same day, you can buy a video doorbell, have it installed, and know how to watch it on your phone by dinner time.”
OnTech technicians will also be available to perform peripheral services, including TV mounting, power relocation, fishing wires, cord management, digital TV antenna installation and more.
As an authorized service provider for its partner brands, as well as a Nest Pro Elite partner, OnTech technicians receive professional training on a curated list of smart home products and services including indoor and outdoor cameras, video doorbells, smart locks, smart plugs, thermostats and home audio. OnTech will also be installing products from Linksys, including the Velop Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System.
DISH introduced its initial Smart Home Services to customers of its satellite television service in 2011, expanding its offerings to include TV mounting, surround sound and home networking. In 2015, select DISH Smart Home Services launched in the Amazon Marketplace, and with the OnTech launch, all consumers will now have direct access to an even broader set of products and services.
