Definitive's Gross To Retire
Definitive Technology president and cofounder Sandy Gross has announced his retirement from the loudspeaker company, the company announced Tuesday. Gross' retirement is effective March 31.
The executive's retirement, the company said in a statement, was "long-contemplated," but Gross waited until the company and key executives were well-positioned for a smooth transition.
"For decades I’ve worked 24/7 running my businesses and I saw the time approaching when I would want to slow down, take a break and contemplate my future plans," Gross said as part of the announcement. "But I didn’t want to leave before there was a management structure in place that could continue Definitive’s legacy of quality and success.”
The company, founded in 1990, was sold to Directed Electronics in 2004. Gross, who also cofounded Polk Audio in the 1970s, was inducted into to the Dealerscope Hall of Fame in 2005.
