Dealerscope’s Best in Show Awards
Dealerscope magazine and Dealerscope.com announced its Best in Show product winners Wednesday night during CE Week in New York City. In choosing the winners, Dealerscope Editor-in-Chief Jeff O'Heir based the criteria on unique product design, quality build, exceptional user experience, practical and sensible features, how well the product fits into a full solution to help dealers increase their ASPs, and, when applicable, the vendor's support of the consumer electronics dealer channel. Help us congratulate the following winners.
Best in Show Overall Excellence Award
Epson's PowerLite Pro Cinema 6020UB 3D/2D projector
What we like: The PowerLite Pro Cinema 6020UB (ESP $3,499, September launch) includes all of the features and qualities dealers have come to expect from products delivered by one of their most trusted channel partners. The 1080p resolution with Bright 3D Drive Technology helps to minimize the blackout time of 3D glasses and provide brighter 3D images. We also like that, while many vendors cut back their dealer support programs and got caught up in pricing games during the recession, Epson maintained their dealer support and worked to protect pricing and margins, earning it the reputation of one of the most dealer-friendly companies in the CE retail channel.
Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Soundcast's Melody Speaker System
What we like: Melody sets the standard for larger portable speakers. Weighing in at a reasonable nine pounds, the water-resistant enclosure houses four bass radiator and four high-performance speakers for a 360-degree omni-directional soundstage. Sounds great at low volume and even better cranked. The Melody ($499) features Bluetooth v3.0 and AAC/AptX Lossless Quality Codecs.
Multi-room AV Streaming
What we like: The Zipp ($399) sports a unique and elegant design, great overall sound and value-added features like the PlayDirect, which creates a Wi-Fi connection between the Zipp and any compatible device to stream sound (for multi-room audio) without the need for an in-home Wi-Fi network.
