D&H Offers Dealer Strategies
D&H Distributing suggested Monday that retailers adopt a holiday-focused strategy each month tailored to specific events.
Taking their queue from the usual Christmas holiday season, D&H believes retailers can improve margins by focusing sales events around Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and other holidays in the first half of the year. They are specifically encouraged to use products of a certain color and shape as part of specials during certain holidays.
“With a little imaginative brainstorming, retailers can plant seeds for the consumer, getting them to think in terms of CE gifts for holidays well beyond Black Friday,” Mary Campbell, vice president of marketing at D&H Distributing, said as part of the announcement.
“This approach can generate incremental revenues on a monthly basis. It’s not beyond possibility to envision technology becoming a part of the gift giving tradition for a whole list of events, from romantic holidays to family-based ones.”
