Crestron ISE 2019 News: Launch of Crestron Home OS 3; Demos of Apple Integration
Crestron is using the occasion of ISE 2019 to highlight several company initiatives. These include the debut of Crestron Home, powered by OS 3 – the latest iteration of the company’s complete package for any sized smart home project, which it says provides a simpler, smarter user experience on mobile devices and TSW touch screens along with helping integrators to speed its deployment in homes.
At its Amsterdam outpost, it is also demonstrating how integrators can optimize and leverage Apple’s Apple TV, Siri and HomeKit technologies to enhance clients’ lifestyle experience with its Crestron devices.
On the upcoming Spring 2019 rollout of Crestron Home, powered by OS3, Michael Short, global residential marketing manager for Crestron said: “OS 2 delivered the foundation; OS 3 perfects the experience. It’s completely redesigned; simple, clean and sophisticated.”
The new version is being positioned as a time-saver for integrators that will enable setup and deployment on any scale, no programming needed. It will offer new page designs, dynamic room controls and icons and other key new features. These include: multiple-home support; easier scene creation and editing; new icons to save favorites, to improve the customer experience; and refined layout for easy access to the most commonly used functions. OS3 will also offer enforced end-to-end encryption for secure communications, and the ability to register homeowners and guests remotely, through a custom URL.
The demos of streamlined integration with Apple technologies address the enabling of IP control of Apple TV, including voice commands via the TSR-310 touch screen remote control, and support in the Crestron Home operating system and Crestron SIMPL.
