Crestron introduces new Home Elements toolkit and shows off new Pyng products at CEDIA 2015
During a press tour of its booth at CEDIA 2015, Crestron discussed a number of improvements the company has made to its Pyng technology and introduced the Home Elements toolkit for integrators.
Home Elements, rolled out at CEDIA 2015, is a set of “object-oriented tools for programmers of high-end automation systems,” explained Crestron Marketing Communications Director Jeff Singer. The main objective of the toolkit is to simplify the process for integrators who are installing Crestron's Pyng technology into customers' homes. The toolkit contains tested and Crestron-validated modules, Singer said, and is all about giving integrators a simplified, code-free method for customizing the Crestron system. The system makes it easier and faster for integrators to install the system, which could them in turn result in reduced labor costs for the homeowner. It also frees up resources to allow integrators to focus on more sophisticated, Crestron controls and IoT integration that require custom programming.
“The Home Elements toolkit is enormously beneficial to every Crestron dealer, CSP, and ultimately their customers. Now it’s much easier to deliver highly customized systems that integrate DigitalMedia, Pyng technology, and virtually any third party technologies into a cohesive, ultra-reliable Crestron experience,” Fred Bargetzi, CTO of Crestron, said in a statement. “Whether you started with Pyng and need to expand, or you’re configuring a 3-Series control system with advanced custom functionality, Home Elements reduces programming requirements while ensuring a spectacular user experience that includes intuitive dropdown and slide-out windows, and scrolling lists on all devices.”
Singer also discussed how Crestron has greatly expanded the Pyng technology to include more than 300 products. In addition to lights, shades, audio distribution, touch screens, and other devices, integrators can set consumers up with ONVIF cameras, RGBW lisghting controls, wireless fan controls, security locks, thermostats, dimmers, keypads, CAEN cabinets, and more.
