Countdown to CEDIA EXPO 2007
I didn’t scare you, did I? Go ahead and check the cover; it’s OK. This is the August issue, not September! Whew, that was a close call!
Nevertheless, we’re just a few short weeks away from CEDIA EXPO, but with so much going on at the show, I thought I’d provide a bit of a planning guide to help you make the most of your trip to Denver.
Have you been to www.cedia.net/expo lately? There’s a host of information there that can make your trip to Denver easier and smarter. Pay close attention to the CEDIA EXPO New Product Pre-Show Showcase, as new items are being added weekly by manufacturers to build their pre-show buzz. What’s cool about this is that you can pre-plot a course with manufacturers’ booth numbers that will ensure you make the most of your time on the exhibitor floor throughout the four days of the show and not miss a thing. You can also forward product information to a colleague and weigh in with your thoughts in the comments section. This is a very hip tool for making the most of your CEDIA EXPO experience.
For our manufacturer partners, this is also another chance to remind you to enter the 2007 EXC!TE Awards competition. Time is running out to enter at www.customretailer.net/2007exciteballot. Entries are due by August 31, so don’t delay! We will be delighted to see you all at our party in Denver to celebrate the winners and capture you on video for posting to our web site after the show. For those of us that count ourselves among the analog generation, check out the October issue of CustomRetailer, where the printed recap of the EXC!TE Award winners will appear.
CustomRetailer is the proud sponsor of the CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles® Manufacturers’ Awards this year. I’m as excited as you are to learn of the winners on Saturday night at the show. Our roving band of video editors will be interviewing them first thing Sunday morning. We’ll also be covering the show on video and posting to our web site, so be sure to stop and say hello if you see our editors in the hallways at CEDIA.
