Control4's West Hands Off to Plaehn
In an interview Thursday, former Control4 CEO Will West commented on the appointment of Martin Plaehn as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
“We're not really changing our strategy, but we are growing at such a fast pace- -30 percent [or more] a year—that we have to have the right people in place," West said. "We need the correct people to take us from a 100 million dollar-a-year company to a multi-hundred-million-dollar-a-year company. We believe that Martin Plaehn, with his vast exeperience, deep tech acumen and strength in matrix-based operations is the right person for the job and also very importantly, he is a good fit with the company.
Plaehn is a former Product & Service Development at RealNetworks and was also CEO of both Bungee Labs and Viewpoint Digital.
“Since Control4’s debut in March 2003, we have been steadfast in our vision to deliver best-of-class home automation solutions and drive relationships that enhance both the dealer and customer experience.," West continued. "Finding the new President and CEO was a careful and thoughtful process and we interviewed several candidates. Having Martin in place will move us forward into the years ahead and there is no question that we will be in a better position with day-to-day operations with Martin on board."
“I will continue to focus to a large degree on our partner relationships and developing plans with Martin and the management team on where we will take the company in the next 2-5 years. Because of such exciting growth, we need the best people in the key positions and we've achieved that.”
