Consumer Reports Pans Seiki Ultra HD TV
Seiki, a little-known HDTV brand, drew some attention earlier this year when it announced a new, 4K Ultra HD TV significantly less expensive than those offered by its better-known, more established competitors.
Now, Consumer Reports has gotten ahold of the $1,400, 50-inch TV, and its review is less than posiitive.
Authors James K. Willcox and Claudio Ciacci describe the Seiki model as "a mediocre to below-average LCD TV, albeit one with a higher-resolution screen."
Consumer Reports also panned the lack of special features such as 3D, Wi-FI capability, as well as its lackluster sound system.
