CEDIA Releases Benchmark Survey
Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) Monday announced the release of its 2010 Benchmarking Survey, which found that the average gross revenue for electronic systems contractors was $1.1 million, with average net profit dropping from 6.8 percent to 3.5 percent, while gross margin rose 7 percent.
The survey also found that in the industry, 24 percent of business is on home theater and media rooms, with distributed audio/video also comprising 24 percent. Systems integration is 13 percent while structured wiring is 9 percent.
“With the uphill battles ESCs are facing in this economic climate, CEDIA is providing vital research data and education that can help business owners make strategic decisions for their companies and their clients,” CEDIA CEO Utz Baldwin said in a statement. “CEDIA’s Benchmarking Survey is an invaluable tool for companies looking to see how they measure up in comparison to their peers.”
