CEDIA’s Take on Employee Satisfaction
What specific programs and incentives does CEDIA offer to help its membership convince their staffers to turn their “jobs” into lifelong careers?
CEDIA is passionate about providing a clear career path for our members’ employees. Over the past five years, CEDIA has overhauled its education to establish a job-specific career pathway.
CEDIA offers five colleges within CEDIA University, all
addressing different positions one may aspire to in this industry: electronic systems technician, business, designer, customer relations and project management.
How can a member know which programs would be the best fit
for the unique culture that exists in his or her particular business?
In addition to CEDIA University colleges, CEDIA has taken the guesswork out of which
education and training is needed for each position in this industry. CEDIA provides suggested career education roadmaps on the CEDIA web site and at education events. Here’s one example: www.cedia.net/education/est_overview.php.
CEDIA is also a partner in the Electronic Systems Professional Alliance (ESPA), whose main goal is to serve as the foundation of a career-ready workforce. ESPA will serve as a launching pad for individuals who are serious about getting into an electronic systems contracting career. If individuals choose the residential side of [the electronic systems contracting] industry, CEDIA would be the next step in advancing their careers.
