CEDIA Announces Another Top Exec's Sudden Departure
A few short weeks after CEDIA announced the sudden departure of CEO Vin Bruno, the company announced another big change at the association. Ron Fleming, the VP of Business Development, is out after a little more than a year at the helm of the business development team. During his tenure, Fleming was responsible for revenue generation and membership growth with a special emphasis on developing new streams of revenue for CEDIA, finding new industry partnerships, and growing manufacturer engagement.
It’s unclear if the move is related to Bruno’s departure.
In a statement emailed apparently only to exhibitors already signed up for the CEDIA show later this year, a copy of which has been obtained byDealerscope, the association said Fleming left to “pursue other opportunities,” phrasing that is eerily similar to that used in the Bruno announcement.
Here is the emailed statement in full:
We hope that this email finds you well. I wanted to let you know that Ron Fleming, VP of Business Development, has left CEDIA to pursue other opportunities. We thank him for his contributions to the association and wish him the best in the future.
Your needs as an exhibitor continue to be our priority and the CEDIA sales and new business development team remains your primary point of contact and support for CEDIA 2017.

We look forward to seeing you at CEDIA 2017 in San Diego; registration for the show opens next week on Wednesday, May 31. If you have additional questions please feel free to respond to this email.
Fleming started with CEDIA in June 2011 as part of the then-newly formed business development division. He served as the senior director of national sales and business development before being promoted to the role of VP of Business Development in January 2016.
