At the LG Electronics CEDIA 2018 booth, Tim Alessi and company introduced and was offering demonstrations of its new CineBeam Laser 4K UHD HDR-10 projector (Model HU80KA) – its first 4K projector. According to Alessi, senior director, home entertainment and product marketing, the new projector displays 4K-quality images up to 150 inches in diagonal with a brightness of 2,500 ANSI lumens.
The home-themed design at the CEDIA booth was the result of team-ups with interior designers to showcase LG’s 77-inch OLED C8 TVs and 65-inch E8 ‘glass’ TVs. The collaboration with custom integration experts from Westchester, N.Y.-based installers Osbee Industries and Value Electronics offered up its various custom installation-oriented product offerings in urban and suburban lifestyle settings,
The CineBeam projector introduction was made after the company’s Rick Calacci, senior vice president for Home Entertainment sales for LG, enumerated LG’s various supports for this industry segment.
Calacci pointed to technology integration partnerships with Crestron, Control4, URC Savent, Elan, Logitech and color calibration software company SpectraCal, which he said were indicative of LG’s custom integration market commitment.
“We have established specialized CI sales channels with internal and external resources,” he also told the press at an event on CEDIA’s opening day. Calacci additionally revealed that LG has established a CI portion on the Reach LG training portal with a repository of aids such as CAD drawings, manuals, and spec sheets. He also cited the establishment of a custom installer council “so that we can align ourselves with what custom installers do” rather than expecting them to align themselves with what LG does.
