The voice-control-technology-centered home automation platform Josh.ai brought to CEDIA Expo its latest and newly designed Josh 3.0 App, founded in what the company’s business development spokesperson, Bridget Carroll, said is machine-focused learning technology that adapts to repeated behavioral patterns of users – moving the platform into the realm of Artificial Intelligence. The company’s mantra, as professed by CEO Alex Capecelatro and as evidenced at the company booth, is now ‘beyond voice.’
The new version of the app is optimized to make proactive recommendations touching on energy management, security, and control of entertainment options, according to the company. What Josh.ai calls a simplified “contextual dashboard” for the app makes suggestions based on time of day and usage information it collects; initiating any action requires a maximum of two taps. The app also has streamlined troubleshooting capabilities baked in for integrators’ use.
Josh also announced native support of A/V distribution at this show, and Carroll said the system, beyond its integration compatibility with Control4, can now integrate with Crestron DM, Savant Scenes, Barco and Sony projectors, and Atlona products.
