CEDIA 2015: This year’s show saw growth across the board
The dust is just settling on CEDIA 2015, which stormed into the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas last week, but the numbers are already coming back, and the organization is reporting growth across the board.
CEDIA 2015 saw an increase of 16 percent in integrator attendance as well as a 6 percent increase in the number of exhibitors that participated in the show, CEDIA said in a statement on Monday evening. More than 18,700 attendees converged on Dallas for the conference, and that was alongside 510 exhibiting companies.
CEDIA quoted a number of exhibitors in its statement who pointed towards the quality of the attendees who came to the show. “This year has definitely been incredible and you could feel the energy on the show floor,” said Skyler Meek with Screen Innovations. “Our booth has been slammed the entire show with the people we want to talk to. We are humbled to have come so far in 10 short years.”
There was also an increase of 33 percent in the total number of first-time attendees, and 124 exhibitors made their CEDIA debuts in 2015. “This is our first time exhibiting at CEDIA and we are impressed with both the reception we have received and the knowledge of the integrators we have talked to,” Jenny Snodgrass, Sales & Marketing Operations Manager for DynaQuip Controls, said in the CEDIA statement. “The way people have responded is proof that there is a demand for our product from both homeowners and integrators.”
On top of the expansive show floor and manufacturers training sessions that were provided, CEDIA 2015 was highlighted by the opening keynote, led by Practical Futurist Michael Rogers, and a number of evening reception events.
This conference was also the first for newly appointed CEDIA CEO Vin Bruno.
"I could not be more pleased with my first CEDIA as CEO. Walking the show floor, I couldn't help but be energized seeing conversations happening in bustling booths," Bruno said in the statement. "After months and months of hard work, CEDIA also got to unveil our new brand strategy and communicate with our stakeholders that CEDIA is working to provide them with the resources they need to be successful. It truly was a fantastic show."
