Alan Poltrack asks: In today's business envioronment-what is CEDIA doing/planning to do about consumers using CEDIA members as their personal "Google" and then going to big box stores.?
Answer: I have a few answers to this question. (1) This is not an issue/problem that CEDIA should be expected to solve. This is an ESC issue/problem that the ESC needs to solve by establishing trust with that client and creating substantial value in the service you offer so the customer prefers to buy directly from you. (2) We need to face reality. This will occur in this day and age so we should be prepared to accept this reality some percentage of the time. (3) The only way I can think of that CEDIA can help is to develop educational courses that teach ESCs how to successfully sell clients on the value of doing business with them.
