CEA, Carriers Complete PlugFest
The Consumer Electronics Association this week announced that it has partnered with AT&T, Comcast, Verizon and others to complete the first IPv6 PlugFest. The purpose was to team electronics companies, industry groups and carriers to test devices with networks.
This event focused on IPv6, an enabling technology for the Internet of Things.
"This kind of event is essential to resolve the myriad of small details needed for true, efficient interoperability," s Brian Markwalter, senior vice president of Research & Standards, CEA, said in a statement.
"CEA PlugFests for other technologies, like HDMI and mobile TV, help companies ensure smooth operation of a product when the consumer plugs it in. And we're excited to see so many companies come together to take advantage of this opportunity, and investigate and ensure their compatibility with such an important underlying technology."
