One Voice: CE Week Continues to Grow, Impress, Evolve
Thousands of people attended CE Week at the end of June in New York City, where they saw literally hundreds of new products.
This week-long event has truly come into its own as the mid-year event for consumer electronics manufacturers and the thousands of press media analystists, buyers, and other qualified professionals who attend. The demos this year were outstanding, with manufacturers pulling out all the proverbial stops. For highlights of the experience, turn to page 20.
The Women in CE Forum on Tuesday at the Rubin Museum of Art was an unprecedented success. The forum served up a full day of sessions, topics, workshops and keynote speakers, all of which related to the career enhancement of women. What’s so different about this forum? Simple: It provides true education and solid career advice that is absolutely critical, regardless of whether you’re just starting out in your career, or are a seasoned vet attempting to segue into your next chapter.

One of the most interesting aspects of CE Week is the unique opportunity to be present as so many new companies bring their babies to market. Speaking of which, I had a sit-down Q&A session in front of a room full of journalists with Hari Seedhar of Soen Audio. Seedhar and his team are bringing to market an advanced portable wireless speaker known as Transit. With its rich, detailed sound and its incredible low-end—especially for such a small and sleek device—Soen’s Transit has to be heard to be believed. With a timeless design that fits squarely into modern lifestyles, the Transit is also simply gorgeous. This sure isn’t another “me-too” portable audio Bluetooth device ... and that’s exactly what is so great about CE Week; you get to see and experience so much in a dynamic, revitalizing location.
We’re already looking forward to next year!
