Candle Touch is a new app-enabled ignition system for candles
In November, a new app-enabled ignition system for candles will hit a major crowdfunding platform. Candle Touch is a self-described first-of-its-kind system to take advantage of the app-enabled “smart world” technology to provide convenience and safety features to your basic candle.
Candle Touch Real Fire candles feature a patent-pending technology that allows users to remotely control Real Fire candles through an app from any iOS or Android smartphone. The app and device communicate through Bluetooth technology and features a real flame that can be ignited or extinguished on the user’s command. And integrated safety controls can safeguard against human error like spills and unattended candles, Candle Touch explained.
Because it works through Bluetooth, the smart candle can sense how close (or far) the user is from the device, and when the user moves past a certain distance threshold, the candle will self-extinguish. Also, the candle will not light and signal an error message if the device is placed on a surface that has an incline. The rechargeable batter lasts an average of 55-70 hours, Candle Touch said. Further, the user can extinguish the app from a distance by simply blowing air into their smartphone’s speaker.
The candles will come in six scents—vanilla, lemon grass, lavender, patchouli, melon, and amber—and can be purchased individually or in units of three, Candle Touch said.
