“Seldom does one meet a person like Bruce Jacobs; a person who lights up a room simply by walking in, a person whose wit and charm lightened otherwise difficult situations, and a person who could laugh at himself on the golf course, participating in his greatest passion - at least the greatest passion that he shared with me.
The golfing Bruce is my favorite Bruce - hitting ball after ball into the desert, letting loose with invectives that would shame most consumer electronics industry veterans, and then throwing another ball down, smiling, saying, “C’est la vie,” and letting out with that obnoxious laugh.
There are few I’d describe as one-of-a-kind, but all of us who know Bruce would echo that sentiment. When I heard he had passed, an hour or so went by while it sunk in, and then I looked up, smiled, and said, “I know you’re making somebody else feel good already.” I’ll miss you Bruce.”
