BrandSource heads to Orlando for annual Summit
Calling all sunshine lovers (BrandSource, ProSource and TRIB members as well).
The yearly BrandSource Summit & Expo will take place in Orlando, February 28-March 2 at the Marriott Orlando World Center. The event’s itinerary consists of product training, informative showcases, group physical activities, sales meetings, educational seminars and keynote speakers.
This year’s Summit includes special events and appearances designed for BrandSource veterans, as well as brand new members. The traditional Butch DuBose 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Sunday, Feb. 28 and the 3rd Annual Women in Business Luncheon will take place on Monday, Feb. 29. The Luncheon includes a panel of successful female industry executives who will field questions from the audience.
There is also an attendee reception Sunday, Feb. 28 to welcome first time members. At the reception, new members will be introduced to the BrandSource management team and other members new to the BrandSource group.
The four-day convention also includes non-business activities such as GE Sponsored Game Night on Tuesday, Mar. 1, hosted by BrandSource’s Young Professionals group. This is a group of future industry leaders in their 20’s and 30’s. GE and Electrolux also sponsor a 5K run/walk on Wednesday, March 2, to benefit Disabled American veterans.
Ben Casnocha, a Silicon Valley-based entrepreneur and writer, will give the keynote address for this year’s expo on Tuesday. The address will focus on concepts derived from his NY Times bestseller, “The Alliance: Managing Talent in the Networked Age,” which he co-authored with LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman.
Casnocha is co-founder of Allied Talent, a consultancy that helps companies better engage their top talent. He is also co-author, with Hoffman, of “The Start-Up of You: Adapt to the Future, Invest in Yourself, and Transform Your Career”.
Representatives from LG, Samsung, GE, Whirlpool and Electrolux will introduce the most advanced additions to their appliance lines and demonstrate how they work in a series of presentations throughout the expo.
Meanwhile, a series of seminars, scheduled to run from Monday-Tuesday, will inform members about new sales and marketing strategies. Motivational presentations, include, but aren’t limited to:
- “We Can’t Wait for Customers, Go Get Them” by Brad Huisken
