Bowers & Wilkins Launches New 600 Series Speakers
British audio brand Bowers & Wilkins announced the sixth iteration of the company’s legendary 600 Series speakers on Monday. The popular and award-winning series’ latest entrant focuses on delivering exceptional audio performance at “an accessible price point,” Bowers & Wilkins said in a statement.
The audio brand said the new 600 Series speakers will be comprised of four speakers and matching subwoofers that feature improvements over their predecessors. They include the flagship 603 floor-standing speaker ($900), the 606 bookshelf/stand speaker ($400), the compact 607 bookshelf/stand speaker ($300), and the HTM6 center-channel speaker ($599). Additionally, Bowers & Wilkins carried over its three subwoofers from the previous 600 Series with updated finishes to match the new speakers; they include the ASW610XP ($1,200), the ASW610 ($650), and the ASW608 ($500). Each product in the series is available in Matte Black and Satin White finishes.
“The 600 Series is the perfect entry point into the Bowers & Wilkins high-fidelity audio experience,” Richard Campbell, Chief Revenue Officer at Bowers & Wilkins, said in the statement. “The new 600 Series embodies the original ethos of John Bowers’ mission to deliver best sound quality and to set new standards for audio performance.”
The company explained that it was able to achieve this “breakthrough quality” by integrating higher-end technologies that were first introduced in their 800 Series Diamond range. To that end, the audio maker incorporated their Continuum Cone midrange driver in the 600 Series speakers. Developed and manufactured exclusively by Bowers & Wilkins, the Kevlar cone is said to improve upon the transparency and accuracy of the sound it produces. Additionally, the 600 Series includes an updated version of the company’s Decoupled Double Dome Tweeter technology, which adds clearer and more accurate high-frequency performance.
