Bosch’s CrystalDry Dishwasher Technology
Bosch wants homeowners to “throw in the towel” – figuratively, of course – with its newest series of dishwashers, which were among a selection of smart appliances on view from the company at this month’s New York City-held Architectural Digest Design Show.
The Bosch lineup of Benchmark and 800 Series dishwashers feature a technology called CrystalDry – a patented drying system that kicks in after the final step in the dish drying cycle to reduce the need for towel or air drying. CrystalDry uses zeolite mineral pellets that transform moisture in the dishwashers to heat of up to 176 degrees, which is then circulated across the dish load to ensure that dishes will be completely dry when they are removed from the unit.
The dishwashers, like much of the Bosch appliances line, are also endowed with Home Connect diagnostics, allowing remote monitoring and control of them from a smartphone.
They will be made available in the third quarter of 2019, according to the company.
Bosch is also planning to introduce connected induction cooktops next month that integrate with its connected hoods, and plans are also afoot to bring out a connected wall oven in the summer.
