BenQ's HT6050 First Single-Chip Home Theater Projector to Earn THX HD Display Certification
BenQ America Corp., the global No. 1 DLP projector brand, announced that the HT6050 home theater projector has achieved the prestigious THX HD Display certification - a professional guarantee of outstanding cinematic performance to rival the finest movie theaters. The first single-chip projector to achieve certification, the Colorific HT6050 delivers precise Rec. 709 color fidelity and stunning high contrast to accurately reproduce every detail of the original content filmmakers intended for audiences. With the HT6050, BenQ enables CEDIA integrators to deliver a stunning entertainment experience to their customers.
"To receive THX certification on our first high-end projector indicates a step in the right direction as we look to expand our portfolio of home theater projectors available to professional integrators," said J.Y. Hu, vice president, business line management at BenQ America Corp. "This certification is a world-class endorsement of the engineering we packed into the HT6050, and for movie enthusiasts and videophiles alike, it signifies our projector is ready to deliver a true cinematic experience right out of the box."
As the first BenQ projector to be awarded the exclusive THX certification, the HT6050 is the result of over 18 months of rigorous engineering development comprising 200 THX laboratory tests of more than 500 data points to ensure that the projector meets the certification's Rec. 709 color accuracy, precise gamma, ideal color temperature, enhanced uniformity and super high native contrast ratio requirements. Originally developed by Lucas film engineers to distinguish only best-in-class audio and video systems, THX certification ensures that the device can precisely deliver content as the director originally intended. THX engineers also pre-calibrated the HT6050's THX Mode, enabling distribution of the most accurate out-of-the-box picture quality possible.
In addition to the THX-certified picture quality performance provided by the projector's strict Rec. 709 RGBRGB color wheel, the HT6050 boasts high pixel fill factor, razor-sharp clarity and superbly sensitive high ANSI contrast from DLP technology. The full HD 1080p projector also offers BenQ's exclusive CinemaMaster advanced video processing suite to perfectly tailor the viewing experience to viewer preferences. Exact adjustments to gamma, color temperature, flesh tones, motion frame rates and more can all be adjusted to suit individual requirements.
Further enhancing flexible customization, the HT6050 is compatible with five optional interchangeable lenses, including 2.4:1 anamorphic aspect ratio, allowing the projector to be seamlessly integrated into any space, from cozy family rooms to dedicated home theaters. Moreover, its horizontal and vertical lens shift and big zoom capability preserve perfect image quality while facilitating installation flexibility over a variety of mounting and placement options.
The HT6050 is also ISFccc-certified by the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF), providing two custom-calibrated modes, ISF Day and ISF Night, to give integrators additional customization options. Along with MHL connectivity for streaming content from smart devices, the HT6050 offers an optional full HD wireless kit, which is the perfect add-on to stream uncompressed 1080p content from a central location to the projector.
Powered by the industrial-grade durability of DLP technology and its robust DMD chip, the HT6050 produces accurate colors and brilliant uniformity without decay for years to come. The home theater projector is now available via BenQ Integrators' Choice partners.
