Azione Unlimited Reaches Milestone of 201 Dealers
Azione Unlimited has hit a milestone of 200+ dealers, crediting a calculated effort to grow the buying group with talent, not numbers.
Azione Unlimited has always been uniquely positioned as the only buying group where vendors are also the members, further underscoring the careful consideration for the group composition. Taking the temperature over the past few years, 2017 was one that president Richard Glikes called a "break-even" year. When he addressed the room in Austin, there were only 176 members on the record and he said he had a lofty goal of about 250.
And Glikes is very cautious about how the group grows. He knows that the industry is brimming with integration firms but there are advantages to being a 'lean' group. Having a swarm of dealers that cover the nation keeps the group agile enough to keep pushing leading-edge information to clients from coast to coast.
"We're trying to create a captive market," Glikes said at the 2016 Fall conference. "So if a new brand or a new tech came out, we could cover the entire country. They wouldn't have to go anywhere else. So we are actually a market unto ourselves. That's a really cool concept because a vendor with an Azione relationship has an entire market at their disposal."
Which really provides a lot of context to just how popular the group has become. However, those numbers really start becoming impressive when the recently added roster includes AudioQuest, Google Home, Barco, Sonos, James Loudspeaker, and distinctive lighting partners in Lumastream and Wolfers Lighting.
“Azione now comprises 201 of the industry’s best integrators, creating an incredible core of knowledge,” said Glikes. “Many of our newest members have been watching the group for years, and decided now is the time to embrace the many benefits of being an Azione Member. At the fall conference in two weeks, our newest dealers will experience the camaraderie, idea-sharing, and partnerships that are all unique to joining the Azione family.”
Azione Unlimited is holding their next conference - the Doneé in Denver - in October, featuring TED Talk-style keynotes.
