Azione creates new cost-saving health care initiative for members
Late on Monday, education and buying group Azione Unlimited shed some details on its new Health Care Initiative for members. The group said that after months of research and negotiations, it decided to utilize its buying power and group size to obtain a “high quality, cost saving health care plan that would not otherwise be available to a small business or medium size business.”
Through the plan, Azione members can choose from 19 different plan options provided by either Cigna or Aetna. Azione said the offering is a prototype and was developed to specifically meet the needs of the large group that has separate entities, separate federal tax ID numbers, and businesses that are located throughout the country.
Azione called the plan the first of its kind and said that dealers will benefit by being able to access statistics of the industry’s “typically young and healthy pool.”
“Azione Unlimited’s number one goal is ‘to deliver profits to members to ensure their long term success,’” Richard Glikes, president of Azione, said in a statement. “One way to deliver more profits is to decrease expenses. This endeavor can save our dealers thousands of dollars. We will be announcing two more initiatives shortly.”
What made the plan attractive, according to Azione, is the fact that the yearly increases or decreases will be linked to actual usage of the plan, and not to national averages. Dedicated human resource representatives will be available to assist with the administration and claims processing, the group explained.
