AVAD Nashville branch will contribute to local food bank during holiday season
The Nashville branch of AVAD LLC will host a food drive to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. The program will run from November 16 through 20.
AVAD Nashville said it is partnering with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to help raise awareness “to fight hunger and help supply food for families in need during the holiday season.” The Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is one of the largest and most comprehensive food banks and distribution centers in the country. Last year, the group donated more than 29 million pounds of food, which equals about 24 million meals for hungry children, families, and seniors throughout the 49-county area that the organization serves.
During the course of the AVAD Nashville drive, dealers will have the opportunity to donate nonperishable food items in exchange for discounts from participating vendors. To receive the special dealer discount, dealers must donate at least fifteen food items at the Nashville branch or $20 on the Virtual Food Drive page.
“We are proud of the AVAD Nashville branch for hosting a food drive and we encourage our customers to participate and give back during this holiday season,” Lei Lei Trock, senior marketing manager at AVAD, said in a statement. “We are thankful for the many vendors that have agreed to participate with discounts as part of the food drive and we hope it encourages more people to give back, either at the Nashville branch or online. The holiday season is a great time to give back to the less-fortunate and we hope to brighten many families’ holidays through the Nashville food drive.”
All of the donated food from AVAD dealers will be given to the Second Harvest Food Bank Office in Nashville on Monday, November 23, just in time for Thanksgiving.
