Runco Showcases WindowWall
Audio Video Interiors, the custom integration firm and showroom located in the Los Angeles Pacific Design Center hosted a Runco and Steinway Lyngdorf press conference and dealer training event on Friday, March 26. Over 30 integrators from the southern California area took part.
The Design Center is home to more than 120 showrooms for interior designers and others.
Jennifer Davis, the vice president of Marketing for Runco, demonstrated the Runco WindowWall at the event. The WindowWall is a completely customizable flat-panel LCD based technology that will enable interior designers and authorized Runco dealers to integrate tiled LCD displays to fill an entire wall or for more modest configurations.
Each LCD “tile” or panel is the equivalent of a 46-inch diagonally measured LCD screen that measures just 4.5 inches deep. When installed together, the gap between the tiles measures just slightly more than 0.25 inches.
Each panel has its own PC input so panels can individually show the Internet, email, video conferencing or whatever the homeowner wants. “This takes in-home entertaining to a whole new level; the possibilities are endless," Davis said.
For the dealers, the WindowWall has the added bonus that each tile can be individually calibrated, and each dealer gets a color balance kit. The cost to the consumer, depending on configuration, ranges between $20,000 to $300,000.
In other design-related news, Runco is now offering 13 custom-color options on its full line of home-theater projectors, and LCD and plasma flat-panel displays.
Runco general manager Adam Schmidt showed off ColourPalette, which features an identical flat panel bezel color to wall color installation. Sure to appeal to designers in a big way, Runco can duplicate any wall paint chip, pantone color or fabric swatch and have the display bezel replicated in either high gloss or matte.
