Audio Gear Group chosen as U.S. distributor of M&K Sound loudspeakers
Denmark-based M&K Sound has chosen Audio Gear Group, a manufacturer and distributor of custom installation specialty products, to be the U.S. distributor of the M&K brand consumer and professional loudspeakers. Audio Gear Group, owned by entrepreneur Dave Chai, runs the website outdoorspeakerdepot.com, which is a direct-to-consumer source for outdoor and indoor loudspeakers, electronics and accessories, including the recently-launched Black by Optimal Speaker Design and now M&K Sound.
In a statement, Audio Gear Group said it intends to distribute M&K Sound products through a network of specialty audio distributors, retailers, and custom integrators, as well as sell direct to consumer through the MKsoundUS.com website.
“Several successful brands have shown that B-to-C sales can be complementary to and in fact supportive of dealer sales efforts,” Chai said in the statement. “If a brand’s direct sales effort is non-predatory and carefully managed it can reinforce the brand story and help our channel partners be more successful with the M&K brand.”
Audio Gear Group said that sales and marketing VP Jack Travis will head up the M&K Sound US sales efforts. He will be supported by David Short who has been selling and marketing M&K Sound for the past two years with the previous U.S. distributor.
“The team at M&K Sound is very excited to form this alliance with Audio Gear Group. M&K Sound is a unique and well-established brand with a very strong, historical position in the USA market and we look forward to collaborating with their team of experienced professionals. We strongly feel that our mutual understanding of ‘the importance of sound’ and to offer best-in-class service provides the base for a long-term relationship which will strengthen and increase our presence in the US market.” M&K Sound President Lars Johansen said in the statement. “Dave Chai and the Audio Gear team will bring extremely high levels of energy, professionalism and marketing skill to the party.”
