Atlona Acquired by Panduit Corp.
AV manufacturer Atlona announced that it has been acquired by Panduit Corporation, an electrical and network infrastructure solutions provider. In accordance with the acquisition, Atlona, which designs and develops products in the residential and commercial AV and IT markets, will become part of the Panduit Enterprise business group.
In a brief statement, the company said that it will continue to serve its customers from its global headquarters in San Jose, California, for all sales, customer support, and training related inquiries.
“There are strong synergies between our companies including a culture of providing innovative, high-quality, customer-driven products, along with outstanding customer support capabilities,” Ilya Khayn, Atlona CEO, said in the statement. “This partnership will ultimately provide our market channels with a single-source solution and expand our footprint globally.”
For Panduit, the move is an interesting one in that it appears to bolster the company’s profile on the commercial and enterprise side of things. But, as long as they allow the Atlona team to maintain the course from a product and services standpoint, this marks the company’s move into the residential space.
“Atlona has been at the forefront in developing cutting-edge AV technology that embraces the full potential of the convergence of AV and network infrastructure,” Dennis Renaud, president and CEO of Panduit, said in the statement. “Their industry-leading solutions complement Panduit’s extensive physical infrastructure portfolio, which will allow us to offer customers a quality end-to-end solution as they move to increasingly complex network infrastructure systems.”
