A Deeper Look at Denon & Marantz Audyssey MultEQ Editor App
Audyssey MultEQ is now released for Denon and Marantz A/V receivers, putting a ton of functionality to the SMW (Show-Me-How) homeowner -- which is smack in the middle between DIY and Do-It-For-Me.
Audyssey MultEQ is a one-stop-shop that offers a full blown control of every aspect. According to Audyssey, it can give accurate one-touch set-up and calibration to detect the size, type, and configuration of speakers used -- even "unusual set-ups" -- and measures their acoustic response in a room.
“The Audyssey MultEQ Editor app enables users to enjoy reference sound that is free of room acoustics problems and also apply their own listening preferences," said Chris Kyriakakis, Chief Technology Officer, Audyssey Laboratories, Inc. "We are very pleased to be working closely with Denon and Marantz to deliver this unique capability for fine tuning these AV Receivers.”
Aimed at being simple to use but powerful under the hood, the MultEQ automatically tweaks as it sees fit but can also re-load a series of saved calibrations, giving homeowners the chance to use integrators recommended settings.
Some of the more dynamic features include midrange compensation to make sound brighter or smoother and even raise dialogue or wrangle in even the most offensive of soundtracks.
The $20 app is available for both iOS and Android devices and is currently only supported by a limited number of models. At this time, Denon and Marantz note only specific models will receive the support, but upcoming 2017 and beyond will receive support.
