2014 CE Week: At A Glance
Some major events will headline the production and usher in this year’s biggest industry news. Here’s a look at a few of them. (For a full rundown, visit www.ceweekny.com.)
CE Week TV
2014 has a new element shaking up CE Week. CE Week TV will cover all conferences, press events and keynotes, and will live-stream it all to global media, retailers and content holders. All the coverage will be archived and repurposed on media platforms such as Vine, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. This is the first time CE Week’s events and news will be available all in one place, so everyone who isn’t present can feel like they’re right in the thick of things.
Apple accessories will take center stage at the iLounge NYC, where all the coolest upcoming products in the Apple accessory industry will be on view, and visitors to the event will be able to see the latest add-ons for iPad, iPhone, and iPod. More new products traditionally debut at CES’s iLounge than anywhere else in the world, and this is the mid-year version of that popular exhibit area. The event will run from June 25-26.
Connected Car Conference The second annual Connected Car Conference (C3) will take place in the Altman Building of the Metropolitan Pavilion on June 24 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. The event will allow leading thinkers in the automotive and technology industry to address issues swirling around in-car technology, such as driver distraction, privacy, government oversight and the pace of technology adoption by automakers. Industry leaders will also feature displays of the latest “toys” for the connected car. Driver-privacy safeguarding, speeding industry innovation, distracted driving and self-driving technology are some of the topics slated for coverage by prominent C3 speakers and panelists. Car manufacturers, OEM suppliers, trade and business media and market analysts will be in attendance. Doug Newcomb, automotive tech expert, will act as Conference Chair.
