Tech’s Biggest Tradeshows and the Companies Behind Them
With CEDIA selling the tradeshow portion of their annual event to Emerald Expositions last week, it got us thinking about some of the other major tech shows out there and the companies behind them.
It takes a lot to put on a tradeshow, from a number of different perspectives. No matter the size of the show—whether it’s a CES or a regional distributor’s event—there are logistical hurdles, registration concerns, on-site matters that have to be handled, preparations that have to be made for the speakers (those of the human variety, not the floor standing ones), and plenty more that we’re glossing over right now. A single trade show can take months to plan for, and it all boils down to how well a team can execute during those few days on site.
It’s a thrilling business.
In looking through some of the big ones out there, it’s interesting to discover who’s behind them—some are run by associations, others by exposition companies like Emerald. But every trade show has one thing in common: They find a way to bring everyone in this remarkable industry together.
