Dear Don,

What (I) wanted in a dealer was someone who was both knowledgeable in the audio and video technologies of today, as well as tomorrow. Equally important, we wanted someone who made us feel special, someone who was willing to work with us one-on-one to better understand our wants, our needs and our desires. In addition, we wanted someone who was interested in developing a relationship that lasted long after the final sale was consummated. After several months of searching, I was beginning to believe this person did not exist. Then suddenly…we found just such a dealer.

This dealer not only understands high-end audio and video equipment, but he also knows how to present that equipment in a comfortable, professional environment to the discriminating consumer. The dealer I’m referring to is Don Krasen (at) Krystal Clear Audio-Video.

Krystal Clear is a high-end audio/video/custom installation company whose approach is much like the doctor/patient relationship. All interviews are by appointment only. This assures the customer will have Don’s undivided attention. My first visit lasted approximately three hours. In that time, Don listened to me explain my perception of the ideal home theater. He’s a great listener! Since that first encounter, he has visited our home to gain visual knowledge of the room’s dimensions and acoustics. We followed that up with several auditioning sessions where we listened to pre-amps, amplifiers, transports and speakers independent of one another. A separate audition was devoted solely to video equipment.

As an indication of the type of relationship Don is interested in building with his customers, he personally delivered my equipment to me on Sunday November 1st, his day off. He then spent the entire afternoon helping me become acquainted with the setup. This was neither requested, nor expected; however, it was a thoughtful gesture on his part because Monday, November 2nd, was my birthday.
