Metra Home Theater Group has literally expanded its Ethereal High Definition (EHD) cable line at 2013 CES. The company is now making longer 8 to 25 meter cables, which keep the same engineering principles that allow the shorter cables to contain data accelerators, while remaining thinner than traditional cables.
Metra brought a number of new products to CES for the home theater environment. Metra has an IR Kit that enables one-stop control of multiple devices, which can be hidden away. The IR Kit includes an IR repeater, receiver, four dual IR emitters and an AC adapter.
"This new product offering will allow homeowners to enjoy their electronics systems without the typical clutter found in home entertainment systems," said Jessy Crabb, general manager at Metra Home Theater Group.
To further polish the home theater display, Metra showed a new LED Light Kit for ambient lighting behind TV mounts.
"Our new LED Light Kit allows anyone to add great color lighting to their surroundings," said Crabb. "With its flexibly and ease of installation, the LED Light Kit is perfect when you need that pop of color in electronics systems applications."
As televisions grow larger, Metra has introduced a TV wall mount for up to 90" TVs, and a new ceiling mount that makes it easier for installers to work in drop-ceiling projects.
Metra also showed a digital TV antenna in response to the popularity of cord-cutting in favor of alternative media sources like Netflix and Hulu. There is an antenna for metropolitan environments and another for rural, both are small compared to traditional antennas.
