IOGear Monday announced a new charity effort to benefit breast cancer research. Between now and August of next year, for every SD, MicroSD or MMC Card Reader/Writer it sells, the company will donate $1 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
“IOGear is honored to partner with Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” James Hsieh, CEO of IOGear, said as part of the announcement. “There are so many incredible causes, and choosing our first major corporate fundraising partner was tough, but it’s important that our support makes a difference. The organization’s research and initiatives create important awareness about breast cancer while the services provide immeasurable help to those affected. We’re proud to be part of the Komen family.”
“We hope that women will download and transfer information about their breast health and screening recommendations from Susan G. Komen to their IOGear device so that they can always have it with them,” Margo K. Lucero, vice president of business development and partnerships for Komen, said as part of the announcement. “We’re very pleased for IOGear’s support as we turn awareness into action for breast health.”
