Comcast's home security and automation suite was officially announced this week and will roll out in the coming months, CNET reported.

The cable giant's Xfinity Home Security service will roll out in six cities, following a tryout in Houston last year. The service will cost around $40 per month, and will allow users to remotely adjust thermostats and lights, while also offering police and fire alarm protection.

The launch cities are Philadelphia; Sarasota, Jacksonville and Naples, Florida; Portland, Oregon and Chattanooga and Nashville, Tennessee.
