JVC unwrapped at CEDIA Expo a new line of eight D-ILA front projectors, six of which are what the company termed “3D-enabled.”

There are three models in each of two series:  the Reference Series (DLA-RS60, RS50 and RS40; November; $11,995; $7,995 and $4,495, respectively) to be sold through the company’s Professional Products Group; and the Procision Series (DLA-X9, X7 and X3; November; priced similarly to the Reference Series models) to be sold through the Consumer Electronics Group.

Two other new JVC models, the 2D DLA-HD250U, for the consumer group, and the 2D DLA-HD250PRO, for the professional group, are available now at $2,995 each.

The top two 3D models, DLA-RS60 and DLA-X9, carry three-year warranties and are spec’d at 100,000:1 native contrast ratio.

All six 3D models output 1,300 ANSI Lumens – a rating JVC said is almost 50 percent brighter than previous models. The RS550 and X7 offer 70,000:1 native contrast ratio, and the RS540 and X3 offer 50,000:1 native contrast ratio.

Both top models, as well as the RS50 and X7 SKUs, are ISF-certified, and carry seven-axis (R, G, B, C, M, Y and orange) color management technology, said to permit precise color tuning, They also have HDMI 1.4a inputs, a LAN connector, a built-in Web server and RS-232C connection capability.

An external 3D signal emitter and two pairs of 3D glasses are offered as standard issue with both lines’ flagship models, and the projectors are compatible with any projection screen, said Gary Klasmeier, product engineering manager, D-ILA systems, for JVC Professional Products.
