The BrandSource and ProSource buying groups welcomed members this week to the Marriott World Center, Orlando Fla. for the 2015 Spring Summit & Expo.
Brand Source CEO Bob Lawrence, in a “State of the Group” report to his membership at its annual Summit in Orlando Tuesday, said that in a connected world, “consumers are still looking to buy at brick and mortar” – but he stressed that the experience has to be a premium one, and that consumers have to be ushered to dealers’ doors via a similarly premium online experience.

At the 2014 Summit & Expo convention in Orlando Monday, Brand
Source’s Home Entertainment Source (HES) division and ProSource,
which includes members of both HES and PRO Group, announced their
merger as an entity with its own corporate status as ProSource
under the Brand Source umbrella.
Denver’s trendy Curtis boutique hotel was the locale where
ProSource vendors and dealers - members of both Brand Source’s Home
Entertainment Source (HES) and the PRO Group (the Progressive
Retailers Organization) met, socialized and strategized for the

As legacy categories mature – losing their mainstream appeal and the hefty margins they once carried – CE specialty dealers have to find alternative products that will resurrect consumer excitement and generate some much-needed profit.
After amassing sales in consumer electronics and appliance that were better than the industry average last year, Brand Source executives expect the next two years to generate better revenues and profits for their dealers.

Source 2012 Convention in late August witnessed the demonstration
of a new cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) system developed by the
buying group that will connect all members.
Group executives said the system would revolutionize data management while smoothing the information flow and sales transaction process between customer and sales associate right in the showroom.
