AVAD’s 3D Open Houses Bring In The Integrators

To help introduce custom integrators to 3D, custom electronics distributor AVAD held Full HD 3D open houses April 13 and 14 simultaneously at all 28 North American locations this week. At the Los Angeles/Van Nuys location, a huge mission of the open house was to dispel the myths that may come up when an integrator is talking about 3D to a customer.
“You can watch 2D content on 3D TVs and glasses are not required to view non-3D content,” said sales associate Danny Decker, Decker also explained the difference between the active 3D glasses and the passive throw-away types the movie theaters hand out. Active 3D glasses are a nice add-on for the dealer.
The demo featured the Samsung UN55C7000 LED TV and the Samsung BD-C6900 Blu-ray with the HDMI 1.4 interconnect. Polk VM20 on-walls enhanced the audio side of the equation.
“AVAD is all about education and training and that’s why having such a a great turn-out is wonderful,” senior manager marketing and training Steve Honig. “Over the two-day event we anticipated that 400 dealers have turned up per location. It’s important that the dealers understand the benefits and features to sell 3D and that it’s all backwards compatible. 3D is a great opportunity for the integrator to get back in front of a customer he might not have talked to for a while.”
