Sony Eyes New Type of TV
Sony's CEO said this week that the company is planning "a different kind of TV set," which will help the company rise above competition, which could include a new Apple HDTV.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal at a breakfast hosted by the paper, CEO Howard Stringer said that the company is "scrambling" to come up with a new and better TV and has dedicated large amounts of R&D to the project. Stringer did not go into specifics about what the TV would look like or what would be different about it.
Stringer also admitted that Sony loses money on every TV it sells and cannot go on doing so.
