Petra Golf Tournament Raised $70,000

Petra Industries’ annual golf tournament this year raised a record amount for a pair of area charities, the company said Monday.

Petra’s 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament raised the funds on behalf of Mercy Ministries of America and Whiz Kids. It was held Oct. 13 at the Oak Tree Golf Country Club in Edmond, Okla., and also attracted an unprecedented amount of participants, as 150 of Petra’s vendors, partners and employees took part in the tournament, a poker tournament and cocktail reception.

“We look forward each year to holding this charity golf tournament and could not do so without the incredible support of our vendors and business partners,” Bill Stewart, President/CEO of Petra Industries, said as part of the announcement. “The generosity this year was simply over the top and we were able to raise an additional $10,000 in funds to donate to Mercy Ministries and Whiz Kids.”

Sponsors of the tournament included Sunpak, CE Labs, Monster, Canon, Proficient, Market Solutions, Brown Printing, Garmin,Pioneer, Midland, Sanus, OmniMount and OtterBox as well as this magazine’s parent company, North American Publishing Co./Consumer Technology Publishing Group.
